Treating Bubonic Plague Today

  • A doctor will diagnose the bubonic plague based on:
    • Presence of buboes
    • Fluid taken from the buboes and tested
    • Blood test
    • Fluid sample taken from lungs
  • Patient will be isolated and given antibacterial drugs including:
    • Gentamycin
    • Doxycycline
    • Ciprofloxacin
